We get asked how to mix patterns and not make it a foul play. The tip we suggest is to break it up with a solid. For example, if you were a plaid shirt and the camo pants… wear a solid sweater to break up the patterns.
Mixing tie and shirt patterns can also be tricky. The safer combo is to wear a stripe tie with a plaid or gingham shirt. An advanced play is to wear a plaid tie with a pattern shirt. The trick is to make sure you change scale; for example, a large plaid with a smaller plaid on the tie. Of course, make sure the colors compliment each other!
