Okay. So you’re going to hit the gym hard this year, no quitting, no excuses. Deja vu right?
For most, the start of a new year brings great excitement. It can provide people with a fresh start, a clean slate. If you have decided that 2013 is going to be your ‘year of fitness’ then you’re definitely in the right place. You may have even completed your first workout? If so, pat yourself on the back! However, the ugly truth is that by the end of the month, many of you will feel your motivation levels dropping, and gym visits will start to slip.
The lazy fat guy lurking deep within the brain of every man will always pick the perfect time to strike, waiting until you feel tired and lethargic to formulate an excuse that wouldn’t convince anyone else but himself. Thus the ultimate method for keeping motivation up, ignore your inner fat guy. Get in the car, get on the bus or get walking just get your butt to the gym. Although your body is working hard, exercise relaxes the mind, helping to relieve stress and any worries during the day. You’ll emerge a new man, a phenomenal feeling that keeps fitness fanatics the world over going back for more. Remember this feeling; it can be the biggest weapon in your arsenal against lethargy!
Remember though, unlike team sports, you now have to be responsible for pushing your own limits this year, you owe it to yourself to be the best version of yourself you can be. Nobody is going to do it for you so you will need to be your own boss. Stay dedicated and stay determined.
