dapper fit mike higginsOur fitness editors here at Dapper Fit have been putting together some amazing information for everyone to stay committed, focused and on track for a new you in 2013 and today I am going to talk a little more about staying committed to the journey.

The key phrase to remember when we start anything new and exciting is, “it is the journey that we need to be committed to.”  It’s not just for the first two months of the year like 67% of “the rest” of them. We are in this for the long haul, it’s not a sprint. They go all out for the first 2-3 months and then burn themselves out then quit.  The worst thing is, that at the point which a person quits is the point at which they are just about to break through to the next level!  So how do we maintain the consistency?

  1. Make a plan, set a goal and be SPECIFIC with your intentions. Unspecific goals yield unspecific results.
  2. PREPARE your routine, and your meals. Fail to plan, plan to fail.
  3. ASK someone who knows – Don’t be afraid to ask or even hire trainers at your gym.  They’re the expert and can help guide you through your journey.  Yes, trainers are extra money; but, you are worth it to invest in yourself and your journey.

Our hope is that some of these tips will be helpful for you in 2013.  New Year, New You!  Stay plugged in for more great tips coming from our Dapper Fit team, in 2013!
