Our friends at Chopin sent us some samples so we could create this cocktail ourselves. It’s a solid summer cocktail but we preferred it with the traditional potato vodka. (Dapper Tip: get some of the Wheat Vodka and just sip it straight!)
2 oz. Chopin Rye Vodka (but feel free to try Potato or Wheat)
1/2 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup*
4-5 Basil Leaves
Place all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake it up. The ice will bruise the basil leaves and release the basil oils. Serve in a chilled Martini glass.
* For a variation, infuse your simple syrup with basil and only use 2 basil leaves in the shaker. Simmer 1/2 cup basil to every 1 cup of simple syrup on medium heat until sugar is fully dissolved. Cool and pour through a fine sieve before using
