Craft Beer is a huge trend so we suggest setting up a Beer Tasting Party. It is a good time for serious craft beer drinkers and novice drinkers. You will need to get beer, food and a way for guests to take notes.
Beers: If it’s a small group, go to your liquor store and grab some single bottles of various craft beers. For a larger group, get some growlers and fill them up at a local gastropub or a growler station. We suggest trying 6-8 types of brew. You can arrange them by style (IPA, Wheat, etc) or by brewery location.
Home Kit: If you are hosting a group of 4 friends, Carlo Devito’s How To Host a Beer Tasting Party In Your Own Home kit contains almost everything you’ll need to host a beer tasting
The kit includes the brew-tasting party essentials:
- 64-page book with full-color photography
- Beer-aroma wheel
- Beer-and-food chart
- 20 craft paper beer bottle covers
- 4 tasting notepads
- Four 2oz glasses for sampling
Glasses: Get tasting glasses like the one shown from a store like Crate & Barrel. Stop at an office store to get some cool notebooks and short golf pencils. You could also use chalkboards to let your guests gather their comments for the beers they try.
Water: set up some glass bottles or pitchers of water with glasses available. Guests should remain hydrated.
Food: You should serve some pub food for your guests. The best menu options are soft pretzels, sliders and cheese plates.
Notes: Stop at an office store to get some cool notebooks and short golf pencils. You could also use chalkboards to let your guests gather their comments for the beers they try.
Playlist: We suggest using the Mumford & Sons channel on Pandora.
