BASIL MARGARITADid you know that Cinco de Mayo is actually not Mexico’s Independence Day? (It was the day chosen to celebrate Mexico’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.) The real Mexican Independence Day is September 16th and we have a Basil Margarita recipe to help you celebrate the real Mexican Independence with Zignum Mezcal.

If you haven’t tried the smoky taste of Mezcal it is time. The incorrect rumors might tell you that it is a tequila. It is a relative but prepared very differently from the same agave plant which is native to Mexico.
