Fitness routines that require little equipment, such as yoga and high-intensity interval training, are predicted to be more popular in 2018. This trend is great for Fit Life Choices because that matches our plans. It’s time to get back to basics.
The latest survey of fitness professionals reveals that fitness and activity trackers are very last year. They are based on solo performance and exercise. This year, join a group activity or have a workout partner so you are in good company as you start the new year.
The American College of Sports Medicine checked in with more than 4,000 fitness professionals around the world and asked them to look at trends not exercise fads. They found that many of us prefer quick fitness routines, perhaps because we’re busy. The survey results results show high-intensity interval training tops the list of fitness trends. Typically, the high-intensity routines are simple involving short bursts of high-intensity exercise, such as sprinting or jumping rope, followed by a short period of rest or recovery, and can take less than 30 minutes from start to finish. The body’s response to this type of training is to function more efficiently so it allows us to get into shape quicker than moderate-intensity exercise. This, again, is a perfect match for the exercise plans from Fit Life Choices which are short, higher intensity with faster results.
